The IELTS general training writing test is different from the academic one. The test is of one hour duration. The test assesses the ability of the candidate to express the ideas in words clearly, arrange the ideas and communicate it in written language in proper order and critically analyze a topic and communicate it effectively.

The IELTS general training writing test is divided into two parts:
IELTS general training writing test task 1: In this section, the candidates are asked to write a letter requesting for some information
IELTS general training writing test task 2: In this section, the candidate is asked to write an essay on an argument and state his/her point of view on the topic.
